What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Calvary Family Worship Center based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We believe in one true and living God, everlasting and infinite in power, wisdom, and goodness—the Creator and Preserver of all things (Romans 1:20; Colossians 1:16). Within the unity of the Godhead exist three co-equal, co-eternal Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
The Son, eternally begotten of the Father, became true God and true man through the virgin birth. He died on the cross as our substitutionary sacrifice, rose from the dead, ascended to the right hand of God as our High Priest, and will return to establish His righteous kingdom. The Holy Spirit is the Divine Comforter sent to indwell, guide, teach believers, and convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8).

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

Man is a created being, made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world (Romans 5:12). "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil, and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man to God (1 John 3:8).

Salvation

Salvation is the gift of God, made possible through Jesus Christ’s work on the cross and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It comes by grace through faith—separate from works or the Law—producing repentance, the new birth, and eternal life in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; 2 Corinthians 7:10). As free moral agents, believers can turn away from God after the new birth and face the consequences of eternal separation.

The Church

The true Church is the Body of Christ, built on the foundation of Jesus Himself, who is our Head. Its members are all born-again believers who live victorious Christian lives.
Through its people, the Holy Spirit gives gifts and ministries to strengthen the Church and reach the world with the Gospel. This universal, Spirit-filled Church is the pure Bride of Christ, for whom Jesus will return to take her home to heaven before the Great Tribulation.

Ressurection

The Bible promises, "This same Jesus...shall so come in like manner" (Acts 1:11). His coming is imminent; when He comes, "The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17). Following the tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years (Revelation 20:6).
